  4. Job Board: Future-forward roles at SimpleTiger, REI, CloudZero, and more.

Let’s dive in!

Highlights of the week

Claude 3 Overthrows ChatGPT: The Power of Synthetic Data

“The King is dead” - the statement has been all over the internet in the last week. Anthropic’s Claude 3 family surpasses ChatGPT and Gemini in many aspects, such as Undergraduate knowledge, reasoning, school math, and code.

It’s claimed to have “near-human levels” of comprehension and fluency when working on complex tasks.

Claude 3 surpasses GPT and Gemini.

If this technical report speaks nothing to you (as every new launch has been claimed to be the best by its own benchmark), the community-voted chatbot leaderboard might help.

From the vote of 500,000 users on Large Model Systems Organization (LMSYS Org), for the first time, Claude took over ChatGPT in the first place for its performance.

Claude 3 Opus ranks first in community vote.

The advance of Claude 3 is partially credited to the synthetic data it was trained on.

Synthetic data is internal AI-generated data, meaning that AI can use its current database to create new data, instead of scraping the entire thing externally.

This will be “a big deal,” especially given the current shortage of data that can be used to train AI, and YouTube’s recent statement that using its videos to train Sora is illegal.

It’s also significant to note that Anthropic’s founder left OpenAI to build a more trusted model, and Claude stands out from others due to its Constitution on Ethics.

Top 100 AI Tools For Work

No, Generative AI use is not declining. In fact, it has increased by 9% in just two months, to 2,909 billion visits across the top 100 tools.

FlexOS conducted a new report about the most used AI tools people ACTUALLY use at work to boost productivity and save them tens of hours.

Not really a surprise, but AI tools do not stop at ChatGPT or Gemini. People use AI tools for image/video generation, project management, writing, marketing, and personal productivity.

It’s not AI that takes your job but a supercharged human with an army of AI tools and agents. Now might be the time to pick up your AI game.
