Highlights of the week

OpenAI-Enhanced’s Robot + GPT-5 Stir the Industry

Business Insider reports that OpenAI will release GPT-5 mid-year 2024. The sources reveal that some enterprise customers have received GPT-5 demos. 

So far, the statements we have known about GPT-5 are that it would be more personalized, smarter, and make fewer mistakes. 

Altman said that OpenAI is releasing new models and updates but has not settled on a name. The coming updates will be “a little bit better than what you’d expect from a GPT-5; I think we have a lot of other important things to release first.”

Meanwhile, Figure AI, a humanoid robot company backed by tech giants, released OpenAI’s Speech-to-Speech reasoning update.

Figure 01, the humanoid robot, can now perform actions on command, describe what it sees, and explain the reasons behind its actions.
