Highlights of the week

The Future Of Having An AI Version To Replace You

Hear me out. The conversation about how AI can replace you is no longer at the level of skills but a literal meaning of being and behaving “you.”

One year ago, Joanna Stern, Wall Street Journal senior personal tech columnist, made an AI clone of herself (video and voice) and tested its lifelike-ness with her family, bank, TikTok, and meeting.

Her clone, AI Joanna, successfully convinced Snap CEO, her sister, and the bank’s voice biometrics. However, the TikTok community and her colleague recognized it was not her due to the limited facial expressions, hand movements, and breathing pauses.

Although her clone was imperfect, Joanna said, “The scariest part of this experiment is that I can see down the line, this being compelling enough and convincing enough.”

Well, that time has come.

Last week, a video on X (Twitter) went viral because it claimed to be generated by AI. A huge controversy followed because people…didn’t believe it was AI.

Turn out, it WAS AI-generated, using a real person's appearance, whose image has been licensed to Arcads to clone and generate such videos.

HeyGen, Argil, and Arcads are some of the tools that can help you create AI-generated videos at scale using AI avatars.

Reaching out to companies like Synthesia can help you create your own (appearance) clone, and tools such as ElevenLabs and Murf.ai can do the voice part.

Can you imagine a day when our AI clones will be in the meeting together while we enjoy breakfast?
