Experiment - Using AI Video in HR
Recruiting, training, compliance—AI video can do it faster, cheaper, and in any language. The question is: will HR lead or lag?

Artificial Intelligence is rewriting how we create and consume video, and human resources is no exception.
With inspiration from a fellow HR colleague, Lars Schmidt, who recently posted about using AI video for employer branding, I wanted to explore its growing role. Check out his post and videos here.
Like Lars, who is using AI video for employer branding (aka recruiting), there are so many use cases across human resources for AI video use. Let's explore them below.

Use Cases Across the Employee Lifecycle
Recruiting - check out Lars’ post above as a great example of how AI video unlocks creativity without the huge production cost. Using AI video for recruiting is a perfect way to differentiate your brand in a very noisy marketplace.
Onboarding - new hires often drown in paperwork and generic slide decks. AI‑generated video tutorials allow HR teams to transform a script into a professional video featuring avatars, animations, and natural voiceovers. The content can be easily updated and translated, ensuring consistent messaging across geographies without adding headcount.
Compliance and safety - a UCL study used a food‑safety script to test AI video, showing that synthetic videos match human‑led videos in knowledge retention. When regulatory updates come fast and frequently, AI video enables HR to roll out training instantly without scheduling a studio or re‑recording presenters.
Skills development - as organizations prioritize micro‑learning, AI makes it simple to produce bite‑sized modules. Panopto’s research reports that adult learners’ ability to retain and recognize information did not differ between AI‑ and human‑led videos. Coupled with built‑in quizzes and analytics, these videos offer an interactive experience that increases participation. Sigma Software’s 35 % engagement boost demonstrates how effective this format can be.
Internal communication - when HR shares benefits updates or wellness reminders, people often ignore long emails. Spirit Airlines’ experience shows that short AI‑generated videos can capture attention and reduce support inquiries dramatically.
Knowledge sharing and localization - companies with global workforces struggle to keep training consistent across languages. AI video tools like those used by SendPulse allow you to translate, voice‑over, and subtitle videos at the click of a button. This ensures everyone gets the same message, regardless of where they live or what language they speak.
What You Need to Consider
Adopting AI‑generated video isn’t simply about chasing a trend; it requires intentionality.
First, maintain the human connection. eLearning Industry warns that too much automation in onboarding can leave new hires feeling isolated.
Second, guard against deepfakes and misuse. The same generative tools that make our jobs easier can also be abused for impersonation and bias.
Third, invest in accessibility. Provide captions, diverse avatars, and flexible viewing options so that employees of all abilities can engage with the content.
Finally, start small. Pilot AI video in a single department and monitor engagement and learning outcomes. Use data to decide whether to scale up and continuously refine the approach.
The Final Credits
AI‑generated video is not about replacing humans; it’s about freeing HR professionals to focus on coaching, feedback, and culture - work that no algorithm can replicate.
The evidence shows that AI‑generated videos deliver learning outcomes on par with human‑recorded videos while saving money and time, and employees prefer them.
The technology is not always perfect, so warning, but it's getting exponentially better every day.
If you experiment with AI video, please reach out. I’d love to showcase a few projects.
